How did you take up hunting?
No family history. I read the book American Rifle - A Biography, and The MeatEater by Steven Rinella, and the rest is history. I moved from NJ to a much more hunting and firearms friendly state within months of finishing those reads, specifically for this purpose.- Doc7

Great gifts this Christmas!
I got Maven C1 10x42s with money from my in-laws, who also got me a 20 deg lightweight sleeping bag and my wife got me a Thermarest Prolite Apex pad. Parents got me a sawyer water filter. Western hunting is getting closer to reality!- Doc7

Thanks guys, you explained it very well! I wish that WY was staying with the same draw dates, I liked that I could apply to a bunch of hunts consecutively and not be in multiple draws at the same time. Although I know many (most) people apply to several states in the hopes of securing just ONE tag.- Doc7

Well, yeesh, that wouldn’t be as nice for my super plan to have two shots at elk tags and a backup pronghorn hunt.
