Great job. It’s been fun talking back and forth since we both drew. Your area looks close to where I shot mine. Dan is the man. One of the nicest dudes I’ve met. Congratulations. Great write up.
Update:
As many have suggested I’ve tried 140 AB and 145 Barnes.
Great accuracy and speeds that I’m pleased with. I will fine tune a little.
H4831SC and Rl23 are the winners.
Thanks again.
Did kill a late season cow with the 140 AB. 200 yds didn’t go anywhere.
I’m not committed to the 168’s. Just was hoping to get a heavier bullet with a higher bc through the 280. I have 140 and 160 Accubonds. I also have 145 lrx. I will likely try a few of the powder combos listed above and see what happens. Likely will end up in the 140/145 bullet weight though.

20” carbon6 barrel 1:8 twist. Aero precision Solus lt action.
I’ve just started the loading process for it. I want to shoot 168 ABLR but my velocities are anemic. I’ve tried H4350, H4831sc, and IMR 4350 and...
I have two Christensens. One Mesa and one Ridgeline. Both good rifles. Shoot better than me. Both have killed lots of elk and deer.
My only complaint is the bolt. It doesn’t run as smoothly as I would like. But as long as I don’t short pull the bolt it will reliably grab the next case and load...
Dang. I’m going to put my head back in the snow and claim ignorance.
We were packing spray and pistols. Being careful and doing the protocols to be safe. So thankfully no bears.
It’s a great shot. I read the article. That’s wide open country up there.
I wonder how many times she practiced the shot before? Or is she like my kids. Go to the range once or twice all summer. Then have a deer or elk standing past distances that they did not practice? My kids have been...
