I love mine, and this is a good price. I just don't need two of them at this point...

    Crossing National Park land

I used to be a NPS employee and asked one of our Rangers acouple questions regarding this... The first was if I could cross through the Park to access USFS and then pack the animal back out through the Park. The second was if I could access through the Park on the way in and exit out the long...

    First Euro Mount

After the semi success I had cleaning skulls the last two years I've been wanting to try different looks for my euro mounts. I decided to stain last years coues cause I love the wood look. I also have a cow(beef cow) skull that I plan to stain next. The pictures make the buck look larger than...

    Jaguars in the Southwest

Maybe I missed it in the paper, but what I saw in Section 2.3 was that they think the Central Arizona/New Mexico Reintroduction Area(CANRA) can only support 69-106 adult jaguars. I, for one, am all for a limited reintroduction as an experimental population in southern Az. I've been hoping to...

    2021 Spring Bear Thread

Some friends tipped me off to a bear in one of our glassing area yesterday, and I managed to find it this morning. Only got to watch it for 1-2 minutes, but it was well worth the 5 mile hike. Alas, no spring OTC tags in this area, so it gets to keep on traveling.

    Arizona Elk Scouting

@The_Hunter_Dave Nice picture, I love when their racks are almost flat like that. The one confirmed bull we saw had 6"-8" browtines already. At first I saw him head on and thought he was a spike, but when he turned his head I got excited quick.

    Arizona Elk Scouting

@coleslaw I had never set for in the unit before Saturday, so I can't speak to what it normally is like. That being said, many areas up high had so much grass it looked like an overgrown lawn. Some tanks were dry, some tanks were full, and there were multiple streams were running. There was a...

    Arizona Elk Scouting

@Valgrego we'll be over in eastern Az. @ImBillT The best grass we saw was up high and it's been up in the 80s. I figured that was enough to get them moving. But, I should have worded my summer range statement differently. We were hiking in summer range and glassing into sanctuaries and...

    Arizona Elk Scouting

A friend and I were blessed to draw Az late rifle elk tags this year. As Az residents, but from the other side of the state we think we'll only have time for four 1-2 day scouting trips. Saturday was our first foray into the unit and it is beautiful country. We focused on familiarizing...

    Yet another spotter question

I use the vortex Razor 11-33×50 on a weekly basis and love it. That being said, you can often find them used for the same price as on expertvoice. Since you aren't supposed to resell Vortex products bought with the veteran discount it also provides a little more flexibility if you decide to go a...

The 9th Circuit Says the Right To Bear Arms Does Not Extend Beyond Your Doorstep

I'm interested to see if the Supreme Court weighs in and I'm hopeful that they would come to a different conclusion.

    Anyone here eat jack rabbit?

Good catch, I thought it only transferred through insect bites. "Heat kills F. tularensis, so cook meat to the right temperature — a minimum of 160 F (71.1 C) for ground meat and game meat..." - mayoclinic.org

    Anyone here eat jack rabbit?

The simple answer is that it is as safe as venison(full discloser I'm not a biologist or doctor). Most of the primary diseases that we could get from them are passed on by fleas and ticks, not in the meat. The hemorrhagic fever that is popping up in rabbits in Arizona might change that equation...
