That photo of Little Elk Basin must have been taken 30-40 years ago cause the buck brush is at ground level. I backpacked in last year on a hunt into the basin and the brush was 10' tall - impossible to locate any animals. Saw one black bear at the top of the mountain and not one elk or deer.
Hey ya'll, I drew a mule deer tag on Utah's North slope Uinta Mnts for late Oct, but I know they have decent herd of elk in there too. The general season is in early Oct so I was thinking about working my way on the north side (south side of Unit 8) and was wondering if anyone has had...
I have one listed if you're still interested even though it's been 4 yrs. Used one season but didn't fit me right. It's listed on the Forum under "Long Range Outdoorsman"
Contact me if you're still in the market.
If you're still in the market I have a one time used Long Range Outdoorsman for sale on the Forum. It's a great 'bullet-proof' pack. It's just that the way I hunt I'm in the market for something else. As mention it was used for elk last year where I packed out one elk and it was great. You...
Have this Long range Pack from the Outdoorsman and used it last season and packed out one elk. Great pack but looking to sale or trade for a comparable Mystery Ranch Marshall or Metcalf with all the accessories. Used is okay as long as it's in good shape for the pack is in excellent shape...
Backpack for Sale if you're still looking
If you're still looking for a pack I have a 2016 Long Range Outdoorsmans Pack manufactured by the Outdoorsman here in Phoenix. I used it once last year and hauled one elk out with it. Awesome but too much of a pack I need for it's 7200 ci. I'm...
Purchased this pack last year for elk season and used once (packed an elk out with it also). Great pack, however, it wasn't exactly what I am looking for. Works awesome because I carried in one haul 2 (yes that's 2) hind quarters (approx 150 lbs) about 1 mile to the access road. So, it's a...
Awesome muley. I was drawn today for General north slope and the adrenaline and excitement is already starting to flow. Never been at GMU 8 so any advise would be greatly appreciated. Plan on packing in on foot as usual.
Unsuccessful on Elk
BUT
Successful on Mule Deer GMU North Slope.
Never been there - Anyone know the area and can provide me some guidance? Would be much obliged. Go ahead and PM me if you like or call. 602-541-8198
I'd would like to thank ya'll for the information. I am definitely preparing to keep the bears away. I'm excited for it's been so long since I've been back in there, just wish I could share it with my kids - maybe next year.
