Early Season Educational Resources
I'd recommend the University of Elk Hunting, which is now part of Outdoor Class. Even if you've had success elk hunting and been doing it for some time, you will find new information in there to help make you successful, especially with archery hunting. Good luck!- cohunter14

This is definitely something to consider. When looking at the units and hunts available, I would be looking at the harvest statistics for each of them. Post Rut Elk hunting Tips
Like has been said, use your eyes to cover ground by glassing.
