I have been driving myself crazy all day trying to figure out why I didn't draw a third choice that the reports seem to indicate I should have drawn. I have a question in and will see what they say if/when they respond.
My odds are so low that I feel nothing at all.
My application strategy was "go big or go home" thanks to lucky draws elsewhere. I expect nothing. I'll either get what I expect, or be pleasantly surprised. Not bad either way!
There were roughly 1,100 - 1,200 leftover last year. Almost 800 were resident junior mule deer. Besides that, ~300 mule deer and ~100 pronghorn, mostly archery.
I got lucky and drew a bighorn ewe tag.
Turns out I'm not bankrupt or poor - in fact, I'm feeling pretty rich right about now. Life is good. Nothing beats sheep hunting!
Utah has a new contractor running the draw this year, so I'm not going to get my hopes up too high based on dates from previous years.
I would love to see results this week. As a resident, my odds this year are in the realm of "bad but not absurd." I should have around a 7% shot at an elk tag...
I don't like APRs and would only support them for a short duration after a die-off.
I hunted on a 4+ points unit for deer not too long ago. I had a pair of bucks at 200 yards - a very small 4 point and an old and large 2 point. I'd have been very happy with the old 2 point, but couldn't legally...
