Buzz and Greenhorn,
We hammered the mountains for 14 days trying to find more elk. All on public land. Our spots were covered up with people, keep hiking and working. On Saturday at 4:00 saw elk on public. Made a hard up hill hike as fast as we could . 12 degree air and 6 inches of snow…...
Forky Finder,
Yes I do have a goal. Kill an elk every year to feed my friends and family. Have done so for the last several years so when I said gaining on him I meant 13 to 97.. a joke. Unlike many people on this site, I look listen and watch how the real killers do it ..Buzz and Greenhorn...
Buzz , killed a bull yesterday on public land in Montana. Took me a while, bow hunted and been gun hunting since season started. But keep going no matter what the conditions. Cut a shit ton of steaks and still got 100 lbs of grind meat. Not 97 but gaining on you .

Damn. I have followed this deal since day one. Dave N. Thanks for letting us join in with your journey. Western mountains are mountains. Illinois treadmills and hills are Illinois…… Hope I can go hunt when I am your age. Like dsnow said you guys spent more time in camp eating than you did...
Just another opinion.. 100 grain Hornady Interlock at 2950 with varget powder does wonders on coyote to elk. Some meat damage but no walkoffs. Deer to 600 yards , elk to 450 no problem killing.
First of all congratulations sneakypete. This forum was started by a man that is a public land hunter to help people enjoy the west. This forum has become a place for everyone on their high horse to bitch an moan and ridicule every deer antelope and elk that other people kill. Buzz H kills a...
I was told that antelope meat was terrible tasting when I moved to Montana. Guys that said that were ride around and blow two legs off killers. I’ve killed a few. Does and nice bucks. Every one was stalked and shot. Some I waited for a while to stand up. Sage brush or alfalfa field they all...
