Ditto. When you sit down with retirement planners they will talk about different sources and how you want to draw from each to minimize taxes in retirement. Having some in Roth is a great benefit there. Roths are also great for covering large unplanned expenses that if pulled from pre...

I get it but still question the value to the average person. 4x poverty level is around 86k for two people. Not a great deal of $$ and I might question whether people who can do that have enough in their Roth and/or other retirement accounts to last 30 ...or maybe 40 years, if retiring before...

Being able to retire that early...AND pay a lot more for health insurance until 65...requires more money than many have.

Question about tariffs and ordering direct from an Italian supplier

Word the other day that Amazon and FedEx would be returning some tariff costs to consumers.

Its a retirement vehicle. Saying one of its benefits is being easier to withdraw money BEFORE you retire is bad advice for most everyone who doesn't already have more money than they need for retirement socked away. Even for them, its a questionable choice, as Roths have even more tax...

    Withdrawal calculator

Its ungodly expensive to buy insurance. Companies that offered it have dropped it due to losing their shirt. Its a bit of a gamble, but we handled it by making sure we could afford it in our 80s or 90s, and working up an estate plan that protects assets. Our planning is assuming we will not...

I get it, but if someone only had a million, needed it to last 30 years, that much in equities is a lot of risk. I would expect most pro advisers to talk them down from that. Not sure all people are good at assessing their own risk tolerance unless they have been actively managing their own...

Thats a helluva lot of fire at the same time! Hard to ask the best agency around to handle all that...esp. with the feds staff cut way back.

70% in equities for a retiree? Do they have almost no expenses or have more money stashed elsewhere? Run that with a 5% withdrawal with a big correction right when they retire or shortly after....

Do you live in the area you are questioning, or is just an area you visit? Locals are often involved/aware...and appreciative. There are pre- suppression plans, I was involved in them for Rx burns in case they started without us. Usually they just lay out where existing or natural breaks...

Beef prices have shot up a lot. Trump's proposal to import more without tariffs has cattle farmers and ranchers furious. In addition to the higher price for them impact of his other tariffs it's turning a lot of people who voted for him...

Fed proposal to vastly expand motorized access.

The fallacy of trails being "multiple use" is just that...a fallacy. And that goes for hunters too. Our non-motorized walking trail systems get a huge amount of use by people--and based on comments left in comment boxes are highly valued by hunters for NOT allowing motorized use. Certainly...
