Ok ok, I know that sometimes even the best hunters out there can't find a downed animal, and yes some people say they shoot and hit just to make themselves look better. I just got off the phone with a guy I know and he told me about six different guys that had shot elk and none of them could locate the animal after the shot. We as hunters need to make sure that we find these animals. All six were positive hits by these hunters all arrows had good blood on...- azhunter

Elk in the desert
Some of the unit is OTC but this particular place is not part of it. I looked as soon as I got home even though I do have a bull elk tag later in the year. -

We have a Whitetail hunt coming up so we have been going out and scouting. On this particular morning we had parked the truck and started climing a nice size mountain and glassing on the way up. All of the sudden a nice six by showed up in my bino's. I could'nt believe it, we are at 5200 ft...
