    Nice! I haven’t ever hunted pheasant but it’s on my to do list. I grew up in Bob white country and they are few and far between right now.

    I built a little trailer with a 110v harbor freight flux core that I’ve hauled all over the country hunting for 6 or 7 years. There are certainly bigger and better options but they’re pretty handy for home/hobby work.

    What have you had to use from your FAK?

    I’ve used and replaced pretty much all of the small injury / sickness stuff at least once or twice. I’ve never needed a tourniquet but I still wouldn’t ever leave it behind. It only takes one occurrence of needing it and not having it to go to the “happy hunting grounds”.

    We've always made them with roasted Hatch chilis. Poblanos are good too but the batter sticks better to roasted ones without the shiny skin.

    Quick release scope rings. Any advice?

    I've had a set of Talley quick detach rings on a CZ 550 for a long time and they work well. I always check zero when reattaching them but haven't ever had the POI change.

    I've hunted almost exclusively with this No.1 in .270 for 20 years and always thought of it as a classy option.
