Importing antlers to MT
Hi, I'm looking at sending a set of red stag antlers to a knife maker in MT. Just wanted to see if anyone has imported them before and if so what if any permits or paperwork are required? I contacted the state usda but never got a response, which is helpful. Thank you- Aussie_hunter_JD

Very interested to know people's experience with these on game. Particularly larger game. Probably going to buy some for hunting red stags and buffalo but at $75 per box of 20 I want to know they're as good as Hornady tell me.- Aussie_hunter_JD

Reading through the thread, if non-resident hunter numbers haven't increased but the resident hunters have increased by 10, 20 or 30 thousand over the last decade or whatever the number is isn't that the issue with crowding? Sorry to throw my Non resident Alien self into the conversation but I just wanted to clarify. Is the issue of crowding on OTC a separate one to the tags you must apply for and draw if one wanted to hunt elk or mule deer or whatever in say the muzzleloader season (think you call them limited hunts?).- Aussie_hunter_JD

Lead conicals have been around for a while and do a good job killing things quickly. But I do think you're correct that anything that causes death more quickly and painlessly is good. I agree with that though, people are too focussed on success. Here in Aus in sambar country, which is to say big mountain country (see pic) long range shooting is taking off. It's a 50 cal with a 1:24 twist. Fast twist i know but we only had two importers into Australia, Lyman and Pedersoli and last year Lyman pulled the pin. So I ordered hawken hunter by Pedersoli.
