Another thing is tire chains for the high elevation forest areas. I have a Ford Ranger and like almost every other mid-size they do not "permit" chains in the front as is. I added 1-inch spacers and chains work well.- Aliby

Winter camping cots
I know insulation when sleeping the ground is vital. At -8°F and 10,000 ft a thermarest was a life saver. How important is adding some sort of insulation on a cot?- Aliby

Nissan Titan Tire Chain Rear Wheel Restriction
I put 1 inch spacers on all four wheels of my Ford Ranger and it works well with chains now. Main issue was clearance at the front, but that seems to be a problem on most mid size trucks these days.- Aliby

What Bino harness are you running
I have a Leupold BX4 and would like to get the Outdoor harness. I am concerned it is not a sealed bag and won't protect against rain, snow melt wet etc.. Is that a problem? -
Best bone saw?
On my second deer hunt I decided to take the ribs for grilling. My Wave 2 Leatherman worked like a charm. It just takes as good bit of time and effort to clean it afterwards. This year I got an Outdoor edge flip 'n zip, so I can keep it with my game bags. Hope it with delivery as good a cut this...- Aliby

cds system review
I have only befell hunting for two years in Colorado. 1st year at 10,500 ft and the second at 6,500 ft. Bagged a buck and a doe respectively. I have a VX 5 HD 3-15, but have not ordered my CDS caps yet. How do you choose an elevation? All else is pretty straight forward I think. -
Backpacking Sleeping Bags on a budget
I just got one of their Eolus 0°F Ultralight 800FP Goose Down Sleeping Bags as a gift. Seems like a pretty good finish and fit. I'll be able to give some comments after 4th season at 10000ft. Any ideas on sleeping pads?- Aliby

Just mail it in. See Returned and Refunds. My maiden elk hunt for canceled last year with covid. I sent my tag in with a cover letter and they gave me my points back. -
Colorado 2nd Draw?
Did a ton of research for the first draw... So disappointed not to draw. Have a younger new hunter I'm helping get into hunting. Today am so relieved that we both were successful on the second draw for buck in the same unit. Now need to figure out how to approach Unit 29 in 4th rifle season. -

Scope rings - xbolt -leupold vx5
Same question, but follow my logic towards an answer: Scope: VX5HD 3-15x44 Rifle: X-bolt Hunter 7mm-08 Leveled the rifle. Placed quarters on the X-covers and (carefully) balanced scope on quarters until the bell clears the front. Only 4 quarters for that. But for the bolt to clear the eye piece...
