Most of your time should be spent glassing the junipers, these elk have been hunted for months and you will need to be glassing all the time trying to find them. They do typically move around at daybreak and dark. There will be a gobs of hunters and campers and they will be spooking and...
I know someone whom drew a Unit 6 Bull Moose tag and I really don't want to tell you how few points they had. Like they say, get the 3 weighted points and anything can happen.
I feel bad for all of the top end weighted point holders whom now are pushing 60+ years of age and can't draw a tag.
This is great - now if they just don't vote out hunting for the animals that use the property. Hopefully this information on what sportsmen groups did to assembly this and make it happen will by us some time and goodwill.
Togie - I see the new stats are out. If you get a chance can you run your program with the 2024. I'm just curious to see the new stats.
Also since I am asking for favors - maybe show the stats for the last couple of years to see if there are any changes or trends occurring.
Thanks-Tim
I would assume you drew a NR tag in the lottery earlier this year. I don't think there are any left over tags for NR's.
Just double checking incase you didn't know Kansas went to a draw for NR's.
I think for $.14 a day a lot of guys could stomach that or sell it to their wives!
They just got to make sure they don’t tell their wives how much it’s gonna cost to get the mount done, before she realizes what where the hell would the thing go in the house?.
I might check with that dumbass.
Sounds like you have some good statistics, but 2.5%+ for 20 years worth of $50 points might not be a good decision for a lot of people. If you could afford it, I would buy the preference point..
Regardless, Luck still plays the biggest role whether you buy...
Really there is little to no advantage when only a couple tags issued. This is why the majority of tags are going to the new applicants as there are far more new applicants now that the upfront fees were waived. This has been thoroughly discussed and documented on of the other talk
forums...
You might think a little different after putting in 20+ years and spending a few thousand dollars buying preference points. It would be nice to see a some benefit or statistical advantage for the people paying for preference points. I’m one of the fortunate that have drawn a couple of great...
Good to see those smallish tasty bulls removed from the gene pool. The last few years before the ugly NW winter kill, we harvested some tiny legal raghorns. Years ago it seems like the frame work for the legal bulls was much larger in some areas than it is today.
It is my understanding that you can apply immediately for Desert Bighorn if you harvested Rocky the prior year. You cannot apply for the Rocky or a goat until the 5 year wait is over. Once you have harvested a Desert you can no longer apply for a Desert.
