I have this rifle. Absolutely love it and I would definitely recommend. Only thing worth noting is that there's already some spots of rust on the bolt after only a year in the safe and a few days in the stand. Superficial at most. Very accurate rifle and great price in this post.
Wind, geothermal, nuclear, and utility-grade solar (with snow melting devices which are commonplace in solar and wind) all do fine in winter weather. Liquified natural gas is the main issue because it doesn't transport well and its efficiency plummets as capacity is reached. Look at Texas 2020...
Looks like Texas is expecting rolling blackouts again (about half the operators are suggesting there's a good chance while half say it's unlikely so I'm going with the latter considering two years ago they said it was impossible to require rolling blackouts). Two years ago over 200 people died...
I usually hunt solo so I like to keep a round in the chamber unless the terrain looks difficult. I'm constantly clearing my chamber, moving over obstacles, and putting another round in the chamber as I go over large logs, slippery mud, or up loose gravel.
If I'm hunting with another person or a...
"Tossed an old chicken I found in there as well as some mystery items" Oh the amount of times I tell myself that I'll label everything properly before it being tossed 1-2 years later because I got lazy after a couple of hours!
And in regards to not having the amount of meat that you were...
I'm a hunter that lives in Richmond VA, a liberal city in a southern area with a history of whitetail hunting. I wouldn't butcher a deer in my front yard (in front of a school in his scenario) for several reasons but a dead animal in a town full of vegetarians/vegans has to be top of the list...
Some people prefer pass-through with a wound channel. Some people like massive trauma. Larger exit wounds are nice for blood trailing but I don't find that as important as trailing whitetail through the woods. Massive trauma usually means less need for a bloodtrail with an accurate shot. Both...
A new study shows that wolves in Yellowstone are increasingly becoming infected by Toxoplasmosis by eating mountain lion scat. The infection causes an increase in Risk-Taking behavior which increases likelihood of the individual to become a pack leader and incidentally lead the pack to more...
Any idea if they'll let me practice my bugling and mewing from the visitor's area? Looking to hit up Montana this October for my first elk hunt. I hope these elk don't have accents 😂
Definitely agree. Farmers are downright hateful of these elk in VA. While there is a whole team dedicated to investigating elk-based damage in VA (along with money to compensate farmers), there would need to be a state-lead campaign to protect farmers' land to see more elk in VA. The elk...
Any models that have a dial (versus a button) will do. They nearly always have a clicking-lock on the dial that resists turning the unit on unintentionally.
I know we're not talking about caliber but how much force do you think is needed for an ethical kill that is likely to go through a shoulder? 270 Win with 150gr pill has me concerned I may not get through the animal with a shoulder hit (I've only ever hunted southern whitetail).
I've yet to hunt elk; only Southeastern whitetail. How difficult are follow-up shots typically? I'm assuming most elk are running if they hear the gunshot?
