I agree. A lot of brands cater to a taller, more “athletic” build but forget that most women aren’t actually built like that. Things are cut so straight anymore, and I feel like most females are just not cut that straight.
Yes! I think a lot of companies forget articulated clothing benefits women as well. I notice a lot of it is bulky and cut very straight, more like winter gear rather than gear you’ll be moving a lot in.
Haha! Totally not built backwards, everyone is different! I have short, wide feet as well and have had great luck with my Irish Setter pull ons in a larger size to accommodate my width and thick socks. I think less females are built how the standard fit is made, not everyone is tall and...
Yes, definitely the goal! Trying to fill the void that I personally came across when trying to find gear for myself. Nothing is just quite what I want!
thanks so much! definitely a great call on the kids stuff. I have kid’s bibs and they get the job done but were just about the only pair I could find! really appreciate the info!
Hi all! Just joined and am hoping for some creative input and feedback! I’ve been considering creating a women’s hunting brand, as long as the market isn’t too saturated by then!
My questions for you gals are:
What do you love about your hunting apparel now? What do you hate about it? What...
gosh thank you and @Panda Bear so much for the encouragement and feedback! I think I finally made my 10 posts so I can make a thread and not hijack others for more input :)
I like some layers but right now I wear so so so many! I’d rather an insulation and weatherproof piece all in one, then the ability to layer my base pieces!
haha, I can typically last 3-4 hours in what I have but if it’s wet I’m unhappy. I have kid’s Rocky bibs and wear an Arcteryx down jacket I got while working at a backpacking store years ago with a camo long sleeve shirt over. It gets the job done...mostly. The Sitka muff I stole from my fiancé...
Yeah, it’s tough to find stuff that’s super warm AND functional and fits. Bibs are just so warm, I’d settle for pants if I could find a good setup though. You wanna be warm when it’s 10 degrees!
I’d never heard of Prois until today! I looked at it and personally don’t like to layer an insulation piece under a shell. I want it all in one!! Is that too much to ask?! Haha. But yeah, gotta put pink on it, how else would we know it’s for females? I’ll like Firstlite when they put a butt flap...
The Fanatic has been at the top of my list for a few years but they stopped making XS. I check ebay quite regularly for an old XS that may be floating around!
I planned on looking at Firstlite until we noticed the men’s bibs have a butt flap and the women’s don’t, haha. Ease of peeing is an important factor! They just don’t have the setup I want in my size. Maybe next year?
I planned on buying a Sitka jacket the last few years but they don’t make an XS anymore sadly! The smalls are just too big for me and they don’t make a ton for whitetail. It definitely is a drag! Now I’ve come to the conclusion that I should start my own brand!
If anyone would like to message me with some feedback, feel free. What issues you have with fit, what kind of layers you wear or would like, what kind of boots you wear. Any input is welcome.
I’m debating starting a women’s hunting gear line. Hoping for input on what females wear now, what they like and dislike about it. As a female who can’t ever find anything in my size, I’ve gotten frustrated trying to find anything. I’ve worn kids bibs for the past five years!
