    Sleeping in truck or tent

I don't know about that one. Price is right. If its muddy and been raining or snowing constantly, are you going to want to lay on your back and hook some of those straps up? I think I would mount hooks all over on the vehicle to avoid that. Small tent might be better.

Boom sticks are cool...but show off your bow!

The world of archery continues to evolve. Yesterday I got a pop up coupon for $300 off a Burris Oracle bowsight. Heck I was bummed when I found out that sights cost more than $100. Now you can get $300 off? My god, what does it cost and will this insanity ever stop? Not while people have...

    Sleeping in truck or tent

It probably beats the alternative. I did spy a "White Duck Regatta 10' Bell tent in a pawn shop today. Did not look like it had been out of the box. Probably lighter than my 5 man or 10 man arctic tent. Might buy it for when I get older or don't want to crawl in and out of the truck anymore...

Anybody have luck in the elk draw?

I only apply in South Dakota. Been to Wyoming once and Idaho twice, had fun, learned things but no elk for me. Called one in for a friend in Wyoming and he scored so I guess thats an assist. Maybe in the future but we all see how that game is playing out.

Anybody have luck in the elk draw?

Not me. On the positive side, I have more preference for next year.

    Sleeping in truck or tent

8' Superduty bed. Couple 2" x 6" crossways and an army litter for a bed. Most of the stuff i bring fits under the lofted bed. Note the toolbox inside the topper. I tend to bring too much stuff. Yes you have ot step over that first 2 x 6 every time you get in or out. Kind of an old age...

    Sleeping in truck or tent

Last year, I was sleeping in my truck shell and the heater quit working. Thats ok i thought, I've got a good 0 degree sleeping bag. How could can it get? 15 minutes later I felt the need to put on another thicker pair of socks as my feet are always the first thing to get cold. Damn zipper stuck...

    Insert Installation Tips?

I would think every broadhead may not have the threads starting in the same place in relation to the blades. Ie, match the broadhead to each individual arrow. I guess it would be easy enough to find out. It hasn't been an issue for me though. Would it be easier to install the insert and then...

BH hunters of Montana offer a raffle and IOWA has to be different?

    Setting up…

If it 60" You will need a 56" string. You need to know your draw length. You need to be able to hold the bow at full draw for 10-15 seconds comfortably in order to develop any kind of decent form. You tube has a lot of recurve shooting instructional clips. That recurve might have replaceable...

    Ebonizing Walnut

It appears you like homemade tools. Good skill to have. I'm not that smart, I just hold the pad in my hand and try to follow the line on the back side whilst trying to not sand any skin off. I do not imagine breathing in the rubber is good for a fellow either.

    Cattle rules wildlife

The wolves do not understand private property so one would think any previous "sanctuaries" would get flushed out by the dogs? Maybe some of the sanctuaries are too large? Shed God, do you really want the government managing the hunting on public land?
