I put in for a regular draw deer tag. I seriously thought about putting in on the special. But from what I read this year everyone felt like this is the year to put in on the special because of the cost increase. So I gambled the other way. How much $ would you pay?
That philosophy worked out for my buddy last year. Bought licenses and a few controlled hunt apps. Had just enough for 1 single superhunt combo ticket. Bought it thinking it was just a donation. Drew... Here we sit a year later. I'm sure he bought one this year. -

Disabled hunting equipment market
There's also the fight on the other side. Just search crossbows for handicapped hunter's and read on. I'm a reasonable accommodation guy. No left hand, good reason for a crossbow. No legs, use a motorized vehicle and shoot from it. That kind of stuff. However missing the tip of a little toe...- Firedude

Anybody else getting a case of the decades of unsuccessfulls? I've put in for tags for 28 years in Idaho now and drawn 2... I've drawn more tags in a single other state as a non resident than my home. Deer, elk, antelope, swan, turkey... 75% odds in some cases. Year after year. No dice. -

IDAHO 2024-2030 Draft Elk Management Plan comment period.
Got mine in. I suggested in the few areas above objective if they start adding hunts to do lesser weapon hunts. Short range, muzzleloader, or in my area a traditional archery season before before increasing rifle tags. Rifle success odds are pretty high. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather see a... -

Little piles of white papers
When I'm hunting areas with softer dirt I'm mad when it's not buried. When I'm hunting rocky areas where you're lucky if you can dig 1/4 inch of pine duff, I don't mind those little white warning flags so I don't step in it again. But at least throw a few rocks on it!- Firedude

Recurve refinishing/limb twist question
Lower limb twist is usually from poor storage. Like setting it upright and leaning it against the wall or in a corner of a closet. Correction can be pretty easy or involved.
