Season prep has gone to the extreme

CO pulled our tickets out of the hat. Now I’ve got even more incentive to work this new hip. I’m encouraged by the fact it can hardly be worse than my last hunt, that convinced me I was done or getting it fixed. Looking at my last western hunt was a gut check for sure.

    Credit card hit for Colorado

After a short hiatus our group is headed out this fall too. Waiting for points to work was a learning curve for a couple guys. They couldn’t understand why they weren’t able to apply with the group. In the past 8-9 guys rotated in and out of the camp, 3 never opting out of a trip.

    Suppressor questions

Well you’ve got lawyers unless you go thru something like silencer central. There is a time cost, it takes more time to process. Now if it’s only you, it may go quickly, going through the big outfits seems to go smoothly as well. ATF doesn’t charge more I don’t believe. It’s those who are...

    Suppressor questions

Might I suggest getting one for a rimfire. The young ones will be able to learn quicker when they are not intimidated by the sound and can hear instructions at any time. They bring so much to the plinking experience. Getting one for a hunting rifle right now offers the same benefits too. Just...

Spend my money on a chronograph

Went with that one myself. It has its limitations, as does my wallet. You aren’t going to accurize a load with it attached. I shoot to get a good idea I’m not getting ready to hurt myself. Then figure out accuracy. Then it’s nice to verify later loads are in the slot. There are ways to mount...

    Because Dad did!

Ford guy too. He’s responsible for sardines, Vienna sausages, saltines and semi warm beer/pop for fishing trips.

Season prep has gone to the extreme

I’ve spent countless hours on aircraft type vids. Looking up and seeing its 0300 and alarms going off at 0600. Don’t own a plane or fly one. Went to schools with a bunch of wingnuts though. Three are commercial pilots with majors now.

Season prep has gone to the extreme

Thought an update would be appropriate. I’m 10 days into recovery. It’s been an interesting trip. I had prepared myself for a lot more pain. A Katoroc scrip that was pretty hard on my strength and Tylenol. Day 3 the Katoroc had to go. Today I went on a 6 block walk. Might have been a block...

    Rimfire Rifle Recommendations

I’m thinking this should be on my short list.

    Rimfire Rifle Recommendations

As I sit here on my deck watching a squirrel laying in the bird feeder gorging himself. Hard to not have immoral thoughts.

    Rimfire Rifle Recommendations

Kinda where I’m at. It’s just perfect for plinking. No ear pro, the extra weight makes the barrel hang.

    Rimfire Rifle Recommendations

Im wanting to get a good .22 . It’ll see use as 90% range toy/trainer, 10% squirrel rifle. I’ve got a can I’d like to put on it. I’m drawn to the Tikka, I shoot a T3 and like the idea of the two being quite similar. The Bergara looks very interesting, as does the CZ.

Season prep has gone to the extreme

Monday is hip replacement day. It been coming for a few years now, last fall I could barely get off the trail without pain. First surgical procedure in 55 years, just a bit apprehensive. Nurses have assured me it’s little more than having my toenails done. Can’t decide how bad I want to ride a...

    Wool hunting clothing

They seem to much more budget friendly as well. I thought I’d hit the hunter lottery when I found a rack at Fleet Farm. My size was already gone never to be restocked.

Tell me about your obscure cartridge

It is for me. A man should have a 1911, I wanted a 10mm (for Grizzly attack :ROFLMAO:).

Tell me about your obscure cartridge

Where should I start I have what I’d consider a non-mainstream collection obscure is too far a step maybe. To start, .327Fed which led to 32H&R, and the .32S&W Long. Next .41Rem, sold the host pistol, but I’m sitting on about 300 reloads and plenty of fodder for more. Just keep my eyes open...

    Wool hunting clothing

I guess I’ve gone down both roads. Kuiu, for my western ventures as well as spring/early fall here in MN. By the time deer season and ice fishing seasons come around the wool starts making sense. It’s heavy, and wind can penetrate, that permeability though keeps the sweat moving out away from...

New half ton truck, what is your thoughts??

Saved me a bunch of typing. Ive owned both Coyote and Ecoboost. Both are powerful, ecoboost gives a bigblock vibe. Coyote has a hotrod vibe, and I think an edge in reliability.
