Who doesn’t wear camo to hunt

Usually camo tops so I can wear them for certain types of hunting where it matters a bit more (duck). Don’t really care about color of pants, mostly hiking pants in earth tones of some sort.

    WI Hunts

Wow, that is a lucky bird- not too many guys would pass on that one! Nice writeup, sounds like a blast👍

Have to give it to you @Archer86, that’s pretty good!😜 Despite the big hit, we’re in the red zone with possession of the ball. Looks about right;)

Keep those meme skills sharp @Archer86… your state’s turn is coming soon😉

    Roth for a kid?

    This is a great point.

Of course not. Ben’s comment seemed strangely beneath Ben from an intellectual perspective… guessing that was by design. It’s hard to argue against E-Plus with facts, emotions tend to seep in.

Way more states without E-Plus have less elk though, so that pretty much proves it’s a good system.

With all due respect, I think you guys are missing the most important thing here: the resource. E-Plus puts way more elk on the mountain. That’s really the end of story for me.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I do have to honestly say, the vocal support for things that reduce NR opportunity by many HT members (among others) have helped clarify the landscape for a lot of NRs.

Probably right, who knows? At this point in time, like a lot of guys in HT, the only piece of gear I would need for most hunts is that little piece of (expensive) paper. If an outfitter can help with that, they’ve done their job “outfitting” very well imo, at least for those interested in DIY.

Zero problems with this part, as long as the price reflects the service. Securing the tag is the #1 biggest challenge for a lot of hunts- if an outfitter helps out with that, they’ve done their job as far as I would be concerned (personally no interest in getting “guided” and would rather DIY on...

I don’t totally disagree, but if you start pulling threads to fix the negatives you can often times have unintended consequences.

It would be better to leave as-is, because it’s already a pretty damn good system. E-Plus is a net positive for the vast majority of stakeholders.

    Butcher’s Crossing

I watched it on a flight, was one of the free movies they offered. It was an OK way to pass the time, classic Nicholas Cage- cheesy but not a totally unsatisfying movie.

    What if supply increases…?

Super happy for that kid! I would love for many more to get to experience that- I feel that the best way to do that is by growing the elk population. What about next year when this kid doesn’t draw? That’s where a system like NM E-Plus is really helpful.

Grow the denominator and this math problem vanishes.

I get where you are coming from- but we have so few elk tags (and so few elk in general) that this would be very helpful at this point in time. Just my opinion.

I would 100% support every one our Wisconsin elk tags be auctioned off by RMEF or the state (as long as the proceeds went back to growing the elk population here). It would be immensely helpful to our herd.
