Guidance on choosing a new barrel or new rifle
If lightweight and suppressed is your game, then go with a carbon. If you're not going to get a can, just go with a steel barrel. You can get same weight and lighter with just as much accuracy (or better) potential if you get a high quality steel barrel (Bartlein, Kreiger, Lilja, etc.). -

Leupold Backcountry Ringmounts - Rem 700 (& clones) 1”
They’re fantastic. I prefer them over Talleys, just upgrading to 30mm rings of the same kind. They have some small paint(?) chips, but it’s only cosmetic. I’ve never had to lap any pair of these I have had. They’re 6-48 screws, so normal 700 thread pattern. $65 to your door. They run at $99 MSRP. -

you may run into an issue with too much acid for the solution. I think I posted a link to a study done on the ebonizing process. It has all you need to know about it. -
