I don’t disagree with a lot of what you are saying. I’m just not convinced we are comparing apples to apples. Wyoming general still has a fraction of the hunters that MT does. Their population is much lower and their public land is significantly different.
I’m not opposed to this proposal...
I didn’t say that. If you have read the last 65 pages you’d see that I have specifically said I support this proposal. I’m saying that we can speculate about what these changes would do but we really have no idea.
In those other states are the tags limited? Or are there 100k+ people running around?
Elk will move. No question about it. Whether or not the private season has an effect on moving elk back to public is the question. I don't think we'll see hardly anyone allowing access during the October...
Elk numbers are mainly up due to the expansion into eastern MT. That has nothing to do with FWP...if the majority of those elk were on public we would decimate them. Just like we have in western Montana.
Mule Deer-Obviously they are in the tank.
Sheep-It's hit or miss. We have the best units...
Just because he was gov when something fell into his lap doesn’t mean he should get credit. If he would have actually done something then it would be different. He had no choice but to allow this. Only Knudsen is dumb enough not to.
Oh Buzz for someone that always preaches facts, you sure dont seem to have a clue why he retired.
I’m not saying he was qualified. I don’t like the way the department has tanked and how moral is in the tank.
I don’t think that’s the case. At some point you’ve got to hold a line and not just fold.
However, let’s get this back on track of the actual proposal.
