MT-WTF did I see?
There was one of these in Jewel Basin a few years back. It took FWP about 20 minutes to send a helicopter to kill it.- Ben Long

How old is too old to hunt?
My dad is 90. He hunted every morning of the 2023 Idaho elk season on his farm (on foot). Then the day after the season closed he broke his hip changing a tire. And he has healed up pretty good so I'm not surprised if he's out there again come October. Even if not, that's a high mark to aim for.- Ben Long

A wolfs elk story
I get it that wolves and lions and bears eat elk that we would like to eat. And they need to be managed. But woods without 'em are a bit too boring for me. I'll eat the occasional tag for the privilege of hunting around four-leggeds who are so much better at it than I will ever be. -

I was teaching a hunter ed course to a bunch of 11 year olds this week. We were covering shot placement. I was just about to warn them against the THS, when I asked, "Any of your dad's from Texas?"
